Moving Home

Sometimes tenants want or need to move to another home. There are a few ways this can take place.

Mutual Exchange
A Mutual Exchange of tenancies involves a tenant swapping their home with another Cantref tenant, a Council tenant or a tenant from another housing association. You need to meet the criteria and get permission from us before the swap takes place. If you require an exchange, please contact us for more information.

Transfer
Sometimes our tenants may find their homes are no longer suitable for them and it may be possible to transfer to another home. If you feel your home no longer meets your needs and you’d like to apply for a transfer please contact us.

Overcrowding
In your tenancy agreement we’ll set a maximum number of people allowed to live in your home. If you think that your home has become overcrowded (e.g. because of an increase in family size or children growing older) please contact us. We can then assess your needs and consider a transfer to a larger home - but this will depend on whether we have a suitable home available in a place where you’d like to live.
