Our Projects

Supported Housing Project for young homeless people

This project houses 6 young people at any one time. Each person has a bed/study room of their own and they share a kitchen, washing and drying facilities, bathroom and shower, living room and a computer room with internet access. The project is staffed during the day and the night. The staff supportday-to-day living including: form filling, budgeting, making and keeping appointments, shopping and cooking etc. They are always willing to listen to residents concerns and our aim is to provide support to help them achieve their goals. The main aim of the project is to provide residents with the necessary skills; help develop their confidence; which will enable them to progress to accommodation and independent living.
Move-on project for young people
There are 9 self contained 1 bedroom flats available for young people. This project provides an excellent opportunity for young people to live in their own flat with support from staff available to them when they need it.This builds their self-esteem and confidence and enables them to seek; acquire and sustain more appropriate long term accommodation and find education, employment or other training opportunities.
Supported housing for young people leaving care
In partnership with Ceredigion County Council Social Services Department we offer housing related support to 6 young care leavers living in 6 self contained flats. The young people receive support to ultimately help them seek; acquire and sustain more appropriate accommodation. Support staff also help them with work and college opportunities and life skills – in order to enable them to move into more appropriate accommodation and live independently.
Support project for ex-offenders
We work with Dyfed Probation Service and other key stakeholders to provide support to ex-offenders in the community. The aim of the project is to work alongside service users in enabling them to move away from their offending behaviour by improving their self esteem and respect. Through the provision of a housing related support service; support will assist tenants to develop responsible patterns of living and tackle issues of re-offending. Priority is given to referrals from Dyfed Probation Services, although referrals can also be received from other organisations to include Ceredigion Council’s Homeless Services. Support can be provided in any tenure.
Tenancy Support Service
Tenancy Support Service provides generic support to tenants in general needs accommodation in the four counties in which we operate. The service offers a housing related support service to vulnerable individuals who are moving into or are currently living in their own homes. The aim of the service is to help tenants to maintain their tenancy and to prevent homelessness with the ultimate goal of becoming independent of support.
Emergency accommodation for the homelessness
Support Staff manage the Authority’s emergency temporary accommodation for homeless families in Ceredigion and Ceredigion County Council Homelessness department are the sole referrers. The project works towards securing appropriate move-on accommodation for people accessing the scheme. The focus of the scheme is offering a housing related support service rather than direct care, to enable residents to develop skills so as to maintain, in the future, successful tenancies and help create opportunities for living, working, social and leisure activities in the community of their choice.
